Fourth of July!

Fourth of July is my favorite holiday, so of course I was so excited to be able to share it with Aida this year. After a long 2 days of festivities she is beat and in bed early, but she was a trooper through it all. Different areas around town had activities on both the 3rd & 4th, so on the 3rd we took Aida to her first Fourth of July parade. She is so into watching, talking & waving to people these days that she had so much fun. All on her own she even began clapping when she would hear others clapping. After a late nap in the afternoon, we headed out to see the fireworks! She does not startle easily, but we just weren't sure how this would go, since they are so loud and it was way past her bedtime. We found a comfy spot to lay our blankets and she enjoyed crawling around and entertaining everyone. She didn't even seem to notice it getting dark, but when the fire boom went off she jumped! Then her big eyes were transfixed on the fireworks...she sat in awe and watched the entire show! I am beyond excited that she loves fireworks!

On the 4th we slept in a little after being up so late, but then we were up and ready for a fun day at the pool! Jamie played "watermelon water polo" with the other dads at the pool against the lifeguards...they even won 2 to 1! It was pretty funny to watch! We even got Aida to nap at the pool; only for about 30 minutes, but what could we expect with so much fun and excitement going on. She even figured out how to "walk" in the pool. In the kiddy pool, which is about 1' deep if she is in her floaty, she can touch and motor her way around all by herself! Of course, she just found this to be the coolest trick! I think her and I will be spending a lot of time in the kiddy pool the rest of the summer! We ended a fun filled two days by having Aunt Paula & Uncle James over for dinner. It is so nice to have family around to spend the holidays with.

We hope everyone else had a wonderful Fourth of July!

(As you will see we love taking pictures, but she just does so many cute things!)
