Enjoying the sun!

After the big snow/ice storm that we had in January, that shut the city down for 3 days, we were afraid it would continue to be a bad winter. It has turned out to be quite the opposite...we are enjoying mid-60 (sometimes even 70) degree days with lots of sun! Aida is basking all of it in and wants to go outside as soon as she wakes up! We go to the park just about everyday...Aida loves to swing and slide! Being from Michigan and then Colorado, having our windows open in February is almost unheard of, but greatly embraced!

We took Aida to another Thrashers hockey game and she loved it! I told her Friday morning that we would be going to see hockey at night and this time her friend Olive got to come along...that's all she could talk about all day! She likes to watch the hockey players, the pom girls and all the fans, but her favorite part is Thrash (their mascot that is a bird of sorts). She feels she must keep an eye on him at all times because he is always doing something crazy and loud! We enjoyed the rest of the weekend outside!

Aida had her 18 month appointment last week. Our baby has finally hit 20 lbs; 20 lbs 4 oz. to be exact and 30 inches tall. I was measuring her the other day to order a dress for her Uncle David's wedding at the beginning of the summer and per their size chart her waist is smaller than a 0-3 month size! I had to laugh! This would be why finding pants that are small enough for her waist, but still long enough is difficult. Often times Jamie and I look at her and say to each other "Where has our baby gone?" We are loving seeing her grow up though. She has begun talking in 2 & 3 word sentences pretty regularly. Many times I will ask Jamie if he has taught her a particular word or phrase, and he will say no. She just seems to absorb information, so we are trying to teach her as much as possible...working on colors, shapes, letters and numbers. She still loves to write her name and can point out an "A" for Aida.

We are "working" on potty training. The first couple of days after we got the potty chair she was excited and wanted to sit on it all the time, but the newness has worn off and now it seems more like a chore to her. We are not pushing her just encouraging and asking all the time if she wants to try; sometimes the answer is yes and sometimes not.
