Summer Fun!

We have had a wonderful summer, despite all of this Texas heat! Since there was so much heat, we spent a lot of time doing things either in the water or indoors. Being from Michigan, spending a lot of our summer indoors is a hard thing, but now that the weather is cooling down I hope that we can now have a few good months of time spent outside. 

 One of the fun outside activities we did was spending a morning at the sprinkler park with a great friend! It may have been a little cold, but we still had fun!

One of the plus sides of apartment living, is the great pool that is in our complex. We have enjoyed it a lot this summer and are still hoping to have at least a few more swims before it gets cold. Aida has done awesome with learning how to swim on her own. She started out the summer wearing arm floaties and now she can jump in without them and swim back to the edge!

Our church has a great play place, that they keep open in the mornings during the week and we have frequented it a lot this summer. For those of you who have not seen the churches in Texas, many of them have such play places and they are awesome! Think very large scale McDonald's play area, but much cleaner and nicer kids!

Aside from our church play place, we have also loved going to Let's Jump and wearing off lots of energy jumping and sliding.

We love it when Rylan can join us as well! (Sorry the pics are not that great)

When we would get a break in the temperature, we loved to enjoy some time outside at the park.

 Looking for bugs...this is something Aida & Rylan LOVE to do, no matter where we are.

There was also a lot of time spent hanging out inside. After playing lots and lots of castle and princesses, we got Aida to be interested in doing crafts and coloring. This is not something she used to enjoy, but now that she gets to cut and glue on her own, she has a new liking for crafts.

 It really was a great summer home with my sweet little girl, but it is nice to be starting into the fall and falling into a routine with school and our other activities.
