On Thursday and Friday that got to tag along to our normal activities of gymnastics and swimming. Aida loved having someone to watch her at gymnastics and the verdict is still out on the swimming idea. She LOVES the water, but her strong-willed self is starting so come out in the water as well, with an frustration towards mom trying to get her to swim on her own without floats or a life jacket.
We also took a little trip to the zoo. Even being still a bit crabby from her swimming, she hung in there and showed Aunt Becca & Aunt Katie around the zoo.
We spent a few afternoons at the park...one of Aida's favorite places, that we must visit every day, rain, sun or wind (there's lots in FW)!
And you can't come Texas without visiting the Stockyards and seeing a rodeo. Another of Aida's favorite activities is heading down to the Stockyards to see the steers, horses and the cowboys and cowgirls! She still wants to ride a horse! We watched the steers corralled down the street, checked out a few of the shops, ate dinner at Cooper's (a true Texas BBQ and amazingly good!) and stayed for the Stockyards Rodeo. It was late and Aida was getting a little tired, but she loved watching all of the steer riding, bronco bucking, cow lassoing fun! She even got dad to buy her her own pink lasso; something every cowgirl needs!
On their last day here, we took a trip down to visit Texas Christian University and we can proudly say that Katie has applied there and we couldn't be more proud. It is an awesome school, with a beautiful campus! Not to mention we would love to have another VandenBerge in Texas (and a close babysitter!).
We can't wait to see you girls again this summer, but in Michigan this time!
