After our camping trip we headed over to the West side of the state to spend the rest of the week with Jamie's family. There was a big event going on...Aunt Katie graduated from high school, and we were so excited to be able to be part of it. The first night we got there we headed over to the graduation ceremony!
We are very proud of Katie and her accomplishments in high school. We are also looking forward to getting to spend a little more time with Aunt Katie as she heads down to Texas Christian University this fall...go Horn Frogs!
After camping, Aida was very excited to fall back into wearing a princess costume all the time (even though she was able to talk mom into letting her wear them camping as well). During the week we did some shopping, spent some time visiting friends and spent some much needed time enjoying family.
Aida really enjoyed putting on concerts for us to dance to.
We look forward to hearing her play in the future!
Papa pulled out all of Aunt Katie & Becca's old dress up clothes for Aida to look through. She even convinced Aunt Katie to try one on and be a princess as well!
We played a little princess baseball. After figuring out what an arm Aida has, we decided it would be better for her to play outside!
Aida was excited to have her very own horse to ride. She named him Maximus and her and Rapunzel hopped on.
One thing we have really missed above living in Michigan was getting to see our siblings play sports and other activities. Katie and her soccer team made it to districts, so we were finally able to watch Katie play and win districts! Rain and all, it was so much fun to watch!
Another favorite activity was playing doctor with Aunt Becca who is currently studying to be a nurse. Aida sure does love to get and give shots!
Our last day in MI was spent celebrating graduations. After church we spent some time at one of Katie's friends open house. It was nice to be able to catch up with some friends and old neighbors there as well. It was than onto getting ready for Katie's open house that evening. I got the pleasure of helping Katie make her picture boards, and really enjoyed looking back at all of Katie's childhood memories and some fun one's that we have had as a family.
Katie had her open house with two other friends, at one of their parents homes. They live on a farm and Aida loved getting an up close look at the cows, chickens, ducks and bunnies. It was a wonderful evening filled with some good snacks and great times visiting with friends and family. After a wonderful fireworks show, it was time for us to jump in the car and start our 21 hour trip back home. While the trip is long, it was definitely worth it!
